Fender Play x Samsung TV App

Project Background
Samsung came to Fender Play with an exciting ask: bring our guitar learning platform to TV. I led design end-to-end, partnering with engineering, PM, and the Samsung team to evolve our existing design system for the 10-foot UI and all within a two-month timeline.
Along the way, I conceived Jam Mode.
A feature that lets users pick a backing track, throw a beautiful custom background on their TV, and just play. Think of it as turning your living room into a stage. Users can even pull up chords on screen while they play. I originated the concept, crafted the story, designed the feature, and our team designed all the backgrounds too. It became a marquee part of the Samsung marketing story.
The app is now live on Samsung TVs.
The Design Approach
The goal was never to start over — it was to evolve. We took Fender Play's existing design language and adapted it for the 10-foot experience. Color guides the eye across the room, signaling what matters and what to do next without losing the warmth the brand is known for. Imagery does the emotional heavy lifting, transforming a learning app into something that feels cinematic and alive on your living room screen.
